This newspaper does not commemorate any special date in Indonesian history.  The original collector was likely traveling in Indonesia at the time, and purchased the newspaper as a souvenir.  Nonetheless, there are some interesting articles about local culture/events of the time – see images in gallery for some examples.

• an article about a girl turning into a tiger.  In a country village, a bride-to-be tried on what she thought was her wedding dress while her family was out of the house.  The clothes were striped, and she turned into a tiger.  In turns out that her father had received the clothes from a magician.  This event was the talk of the Bogor district
• article about polygamy regulations in the Indonesian army
• news of Vietnamese communist rebels “sweeping” into Northern Laos
