Documents Eisenhower’s overwhelming victory in the 1956 Presidential election.  Many articles about the election results from various regions across the US.  The “Bush” referred to on the front page was Prescott Bush.

• Great article about a marijuana arrest.  Can you imagine a marijuana arrest in New York City, for a few joints, actually making news today?  How times have changed.  In the article, the woman arrested said she didn’t know “marijuana cigarettes” were illegal, because she was from France.  Seems like the beatnik scene was in bloom in Greenwich Village in 1956.
