Men Walk On Moon – The New York Times 07/21/1969

Headline: “Men Walk On Moon – Astronauts Land On A Plain After Steering Past Crater”
From The New York Times, 07/21/1969

As you would expect, this edition of the New York Times is focused on the 1969 moon landing.  Reading the paper, you get the sense that everyone was very aware that this was an extraordinarily important moment.  Looking back now, the moon landing was indeed a triumph of American technology but might not have had the impact on the future that was assumed at the time.

This newspaper contains special multi-page features, such as diagrams of the moon landing, pages of transcripts of radio communication between the astronauts and NASA control, and the reflections of the “serious thinkers” of the time.   Even the ads were special and focused on the moon landing.  There is a momentous, almost breathless tone throughout.  See the gallery for examples.

The newspaper is in great condition, no tears or damage at all.
